Computer and Mathematical Occupations drive future of work-related hiring activity
Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 20%, emerged as the top future of work-related job roles within the apparel industry in Q3 2023, with new job postings drop by 32% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 10% in Q3 2023, with new job postings dropping by 33% over the previous quarter.
The other prominent future of work roles include Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Occupations with an 8% share in Q3 2023, Business and Financial Operations Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.
Top five companies in apparel industry accounted for 73% of hiring activity
The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q3 2023 were Ralph Lauren, VF, Columbia Sportswear, Peloton Interactive, and Skechers USA. Together they accounted for a combined share of 73% of all future of work-related new jobs in the apparel industry.
Ralph Lauren posted 55 future of work-related new jobs in Q3 2023, VF 35 jobs, Columbia Sportswear 33 jobs, Peloton Interactive 27 jobs, and Skechers USA 25 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.
Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 76.76% share of total new job postings, Q3 2023
The largest share of future of work-related new job postings in the apparel industry in Q3 2023 was in the US with 76.76% followed by Germany (7.05%) and Canada (2.90%). The share represented by the US was two percentage points lower than the 78.67% share it accounted for in Q2 2023.
