It has also since launched a range of popular mobile apps such as Nike Run Club and Nike Training Club. Lululemon inked a US$500m deal in June 2020 for Mirror amid a rise in home workouts sparked by lockdowns following the Covid-19 pandemic. Nike says it also holds a number of other fitness equipment patents that Lululemon is infringing on by selling Mirror. According to the report by CNBC, Nike said it notified Lululemon on 3 November 2021 of the alleged infringement and the leggings maker dismissed Nike’s claims. A spokesperson for Lululemon told Just Style: "The patents in question are overly broad and invalid. We are confident in our position and look forward to defending it in court." Nike could be reached for comment at the time of publication. In recent weeks Nike has doubled down on its tech adoption, acquiring virtual sneakers and crypto-collectibles start-up RTFKT last month in a bid to speed up its digital transformation. And in a new report from FinancePR.com, Nike was named the world’s most valuable apparel firm with a valuation of $30.44bn storming ahead of its biggest competitors Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Adidas.  ]]> Nike is reportedly suing Lululemon Athletica, alleging its at-Home Mirror fitness device and related mobile applications infringe on patents.
